September 10th: Weekly Design Links

I create these links posts every week and one in a rare while I will include something of my own creation. I’m hopeful, that if I hadn’t created it myself, that I would still include it, but my ego helps me get there.

After years of tinkering around, learning javascript with the help of FreeCodeCamp and the kindness of my more code minded friends, I’ve completed my first real coding project — The John Hughes Lorem Ipsum Generator. This is exactly what you think it is. It grabs text from some of the more famous John Hughes’ movies at random. But, more than that, I’ve tried to build something extensible, that others can build on top of and create their own lorem ipsum generators. Grab the code on GitHub and make an X-Files or Simpsons generator. OK, I’ll stop, back to the regularly scheduled link show.
