For the last few days, I’ve been reading ‘How To Sell A Poison’ by Elena Conis. It’s the story of the deadly pesticide DDT and how the US (and much of the world) was quickly sprayed with the chemical. Of course, there are huge amounts of money involved, along with war, and the people who paid the penalty–you guessed it, mostly poor folk. The photo below, from the cover, of model Kay Heffernon, was from a photo shoot that was trying to demonstrate the safety of DDT fogging. You don’t even have to stop eating or drinking! True stories are too much sometimes. Enjoy the links!
