Looking Back to See Forward

I’ve been reading a biography about James Baldwin. This quote struck me.

“Americans have a tremendous sincerity. They are certainly sincere about what they call the negro problem and about the Indians. They’re sincere, in fact, about everything.”

This was the late 60’s after the assassination of Medger Evers, Malcom X and Martin Luther King. This reminds me of today. Everyone has such strong beliefs. No one wants to hear anything different. OK, off my soapbox–back to the link show.
